Kerry Dean Thompson was born November 7, 1954, to Edward and Eva (Conrad) Thompson in Omaha, Nebraska. He was raised in Woodbine, Iowa and attended LoMa High School. Kerry proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1973 - 1975 stationed in Germany. Following his honorable discharge he worked for Stockard Trailers in Dunlap. He also worked in construction in Colorado and California. Kerry married Mary Freund and they were blessed with one son, Shane. In the late 1980s Kerry moved to Woodbine, Iowa. He did some roofing and millwright construction work.
Kerry enjoyed wood crafts and leather crafts. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Kerry died on Monday, October 13, 2008, at Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley, Iowa at the age of 53 years, 11 months, and six days.
Kerry was preceded in death by his father; brother, Dennis Thompson; sister, Linda Bird; and nephew, Shawn Freeman. He is survived by his son, Shane Thompson from Fort Riley, Kansas; mother, Eva Thompson of Woodbine, Iowa; three sisters, Cheryl Gibson of Wood River, Illinois, Sheila Baker of Dunlap, Iowa, Toni Thompson of Woodbine, Iowa; brother, Tim Thompson of Colorado; and many other relatives and friends.
