Larry Hardy

Larry Lee Hardy was born on August 31, 1947, to parents Harold and Annie (Park) Hardy. He grew up in the Dunlap area. Larry was united in marriage to Peggy Pauley on June 21, 1975, in Missouri Valley, Iowa and they were blessed with two children, Jeff and Jenny. They eventually settled in the Woodbine, Iowa area. Larry's career began with his service in the Army National Guard, where he showed his commitment to the values of dedication and duty. Following his time in service, he embarked on an impressive 50-year career at Kelly Ryan. In addition to this, he spent five years mowing cemeteries and for the last decade, Larry assisted Denny in his welding business.

Larry dedicated his life to hard work and service, embodying a strong work ethic. He also had a passion for various hobbies. He found joy in splitting wood, tinkering with different projects in the garage, making custom items for people and working on his ‘63’ Chevy Impala. He also enjoyed going to Brandon's house to help with the chickens.

Larry died on April 15, 2025, at his home in Woodbine at the age of 77 years, seven months and 15 days.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Peggy; son, Jeff Hardy; daughter, Jenny Hardy; and brothers, Arnold, Elton and Darrell Hardy. He is survived by his brothers, Wayne Hardy of Woodbine, Denny Hardy and his wife Cheryl of Woodbine and Robbie Hardy of Pocatello, Idaho; nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
