Lee Roy Wagner was born April 8, 1931 in Woodbine, Iowa to parents George Owen and Lucy Jane (Wood) Wagner. He attended country school in the Woodbine area. He then worked on area farms, was a mechanic and drove a cement truck for Clark Ready Mix. He served in the US Army during the Korean War.

On December 21, 1969, he married Beverly Hemmingsen at the R.L.D.S. Church in Missouri Valley. The couple lived in Missouri Valley. After Lee Roy retired from Clark Ready Mix he did small engine repair. He became a resident of Rose Vista in April of 2001.

Lee Roy always loved to tinker with engines, fishing, hunting and being with his grandchildren.

Lee Roy died on Wednesday, July 2, 2003 at the Rose Vista Nursing Home in Woodbine at the age of 72 years, two months and 24 days.

Lee Roy was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter, Susan Kay and two brothers, Darrell & Duane Wagner. He is survived by his wife, Beverly of Woodbine; two sons, Lee Roy Wagner, Jr. and Robert Eugene Wagner & his wife Teresa all of Missouri Valley; 4 grandchildren, Tylor Wagner, Robert Eric Wagner, Tina Davis and Nicole Davis; one brother, Alan Wagner & wife Nancy of Fort Calhoun, NE; five sisters, Betty & Otto Bacon of Morley, MI, Eva Mae Enos of Carroll, IA, Dorothy Tilson of Ralston, NE, Mary & Les Mefferd and Carol Adams both of Council Bluffs, IA and many other relatives and friends.
