Leonard Harvey Kline was born May 4, 1925, in Dow City, Iowa to Daniel & Bertha (Brundidge) Kline. He attended Boyer Valley #5 Country School. Harvey then served in the US Army during the Korean War. He married Mildred Malone on April 30, 1955, in Logan, Iowa. The couple lived in Council Bluffs, and Harvey worked at Mastercraft Furniture and the American Upholstery in Omaha. In April of 1994, the couple moved to Dunlap. Mildred died on April 8, 1996.
Leonard loved to hunt, fish and tell big fish stories. He also loved to visit and joke around.
Leonard died on Tuesday, January 31, 2006, at the Dunlap Nursing and Rehab Center attaining the age of 80 years, eight months, and 27 days.
Leonard was preceded in death by his parents; wife Mildred; two sons, Gaylen Kline on August 15, 1998 and Donald Kline in infancy; three sisters, Sadie Zimmerman, Helen Christensen and Lola Arp; and four bothers, Lowell Herbert, Orris, Carl and Ben Kline. He is survived by his daughter, Charlene Kline of Dunlap, Iowa; three sons, Leonard Kline and his wife Sue of Persia, Iowa, Alan Kline and his wife Debbie of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Roger Kline and his wife Debbie of Exira, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Chastity Kline of Council Bluffs, Iowa; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; brother, Donald Kline and his wife Lila of Schleswig, Iowa; brother-in-law Marvin Malone of Woodbine, Iowa; four sisters-in-law, Audrey Kline of Dunlap, Iowa, Darlene Malone of Dunlap, Iowa, Jeana Grimm of Exira, Iowa and Violet Malone of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
