Lois Anderson

Lois Mae Anderson was born on May 30, 1926, to Charlie and Dagmar Marie (Jensen) Winsor near Irwin, Iowa. Lois was raised near Irwin and attended country school and high school in Irwin. Lois   married Don Anderson on October 16, 1949, at the Methodist Church in Denison, Iowa. The couple was blessed with eight children. Lois worked as a CNA at Dunlap Specialty Care, Sewing for people in town and working in the kitchen at the sale barn.

Lois was a member of the Dunlap United Methodist church. She was active in the United Methodist Women. Lois enjoyed embroidery work and sewing, playing Bingo and Skipbo and cooking for her   family. Lois never sat down until everyone else was served, and you never left her house hungry. Lois also enjoyed bowling and dancing.

Lois died on Monday, February 25, 2019, at Dunlap Specialty Care at the age of 92 years, eight months, and 26 days.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents; son, Chuck Anderson; three grandchildren, Allison Heffernan, Mark Feller II, and Nicole Feller; daughter-in-law, Barb Anderson; brother, Howard Christensen; sister, Thelma and her husband Lester Hargens; and two siblings-in-law, Lorna Winsor and Ray Kolln. She is survived by seven children, Dennis (Darla) Andersen of Huntsville, AL, Kathy (Chuck) Foreman of Phoenix, AZ, Steve (Brenda) Anderson of  Colorado Springs, CO, Mike (Geri) Anderson of Dunlap, IA, Sue (Mark) Feller of Denison, IA, Sharon (Dan) Heffernan of Dunlap, IA, Lisa (Tim) Weber of Denison, IA; 25 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; three siblings,  Kenneth Winsor and Melba Kolln both of Denison, IA, Donna (Vic) Schweisow of Manning, Iowa; sister-in-law, Donna Belle Christensen of Florida; and many other relatives and friends.
