Lois Edna (Martin) Dinsmore, 90 of Logan, Iowa died on Tuesday, December 30, 2008, at the Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley, Iowa. She was born January 23, 1918, to Al and Lena (Brauneisen) Martin northeast of Logan, Iowa. She was raised in the Logan area and attended Starry Point and Cass Center Country Schools. She graduated from Logan High School in 1936. After graduation Lois taught school for several years. Lois married Lawrence Dinsmore on February 25, 1939 in Papillion, Nebraska. The couple farmed and raised pigs east of Logan for many years. After retirement they moved into Logan. Lawrence died April 2, 1983.
Lois was a member of the Christian Church. She enjoyed playing cards and also baked wonderful pies. She was a member of the neighborhood club. The couple enjoyed raising chickens as well as planting and raising a large garden.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lawrence Dinsmore; two brothers, Paul and Leslie Martin; and one sister, Freda Myer. She is survived by her daughter, Marlene and Norman Collins of Logan, Iowa; two grandchildren, Lori and Chuck Lee of Prior Lake, Minnesota, David and Brenda Collins of Omaha, Nebraska; three great grandchildren, Ashton Lee and Carter and Corinne Collins; two sisters, Alice Leonard of Owatonna, Minnesota, twin sister, Lola Dinsmore of Logan, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
