Helen Lorene (Burrow) Hein, 85 died on Saturday March 17, 2007, at Rose Vista Nursing Home in Woodbine, Iowa. Lorene was born December 25, 1921, to John and Orie (Cash) Burrow in Gravet, Arkansas. Helen attended school in Arkansas and then moved to California. Helen married Jerry Hein, and the couple farmed in Dunlap. During the winter months they traveled to California and worked in the produce industry for 20 years.
Helen was a member of the Congregational Church in Dunlap and the Church of Christ in Denison. She loved to golf and taught many golf lessons. She also enjoyed her garden. Helen wintered in Southern California for over 20 years.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry Hein; and seven siblings. She is survived by her four children, Geraldine Hein of Eugene, Oregon, John Hein of Dunlap, Iowa, Richard Hein and his wife Jennifer of Dunlap, Iowa, David Hein and his wife Yolanda of Seattle, Washington; four grandchildren; three brothers, Herbert Burrow, Hubert Burrow, and Dennis Burrow; four sisters, Maxine Holloway, Lucile Seefluth, Nellie Hargis, and Faye Wilomoth; and many other relatives and friends.
