Lori Gunn

Lori Lynn (Duysen) Gunn was born on August 16, 1971, to Gerald and Linda (Thompson) Duysen in Creston, Iowa. She moved with her family to Woodbine, Iowa in 1974, and she graduated from Woodbine High School in 1989. After graduation Lori worked at Swanson Foods in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Lori married Donnie Gunn in the early 90s. The couple lived in Bellevue, Nebraska, and they were blessed with one daughter, Julie. Lori attended Bellevue University before they moved to San Diego, California in 2002. She continued her education at San Diego Community College and also worked at the college book store.

Lori liked to read, listen to the 80s rock and roll music, and surf the internet. She loved furthering her education by taking college courses.

Lori died Saturday, June 13, 2009, in San Diego, California at the age of 37 years, nine months, and 28 days.

Lori was preceded in death by her mother, Linda Bird; grandfathers, Ed Thompson and Delbert Duysen; and two uncles, Kerry and Dennis Thompson. She is survived by her daughter, Julie Gunn of San Diego, California; father, Gerald Duysen and his wife Twila of Cherokee, Iowa; two brothers, Gary Duysen and his wife Tiffany of Woodbine, Iowa and Ted Duysen of Arlington, Nebraska; two step sisters, Rachel and her husband Danny Smith of Kingman, Arizona, Tammy and her husband Matt Aguirre of Quimby, Iowa; half brother, Blake Duysen of Cherokee, Iowa; two grandmothers, Eva Thompson of Woodbine, Iowa and Thelma Duysen of Missouri Valley, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
