Evelyn Louise (Golden) Jensen was born April 30, 1928, to William and Gladys (Overman) Golden in Woodbine, Iowa. She was raised in Woodbine and graduated from Woodbine High School in 1945. After graduation she worked at the Office of Price Administration in Omaha, Nebraska. Louise first met Preben Jensen when she was 10 and he was 14 years old. After taking the job in Omaha she met Preben again and the couple was married in 1946 in Missouri Valley, Iowa. The couple farmed near Missouri Valley for a few years and then moved to Woodbine and then to Moorhead before returning to Woodbine. She worked for the telephone company and as a bartender for the Corn Palace in Woodbine and the Safari in Dunlap. The couple moved into town in 2004.

Louise was a member of the First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Future Farm Wives, and the Notabelles. She loved spending time with her grand-children and singing in the church choir. She also enjoyed Scrabble, reading, and playing cards.

Louise died Saturday, December 5, 2009, at Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley, Iowa at the age of 81 years, seven months, and five days.

Louise was preceded in death by her son, John Jensen; and three brothers, Kenny, Dwight, and Vernon Golden. She is survived by her husband, Preben of Logan, Iowa; son, Neil and Bette Jensen of Woodbine, Iowa; two daughters, Anita and Bill Whitmore of Woodbine, Iowa, and Sue and John Benedickt of Logan, Iowa; nine grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; four sisters, Jessie Smith, Lucille Mathison, Janice and Larry Douglas all of Woodbine, Iowa and Janet and George Letson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; brother, Ernie Golden of Walsenberg, Colorado; and many other relatives and friends.
