There will be a time of visitation on Thursday, July 1st for friends and family. The burial service will be a private family service.
Lyle Francis Michael was born on May 7, 1943, on a farm north of Magnolia, Iowa to parents Francis and Alice Mae (Matthews) Michael. Lyle graduated from the Magnolia Consolidated High School in 1961. He then worked for the Harrison County Bridge crew and at Blue Star Foods in Council Bluffs. He started working at the limestone quarry in Logan and lived with his Uncle Herman and Aunt Dorothy in Magnolia. Lyle then worked for the lumber yard in Logan and then Council Bluffs. He later worked for Capital Construction out of Logan building bridges. He joined the carpenters union in Council Bluffs and worked on several projects with them. Then he became self employed as a cabinetmaker and carpenter. Lyle was the first building inspector for Logan from 2000 to 2002. Lyle married Evelyn Marley Bucy on January 16, 2004, in Rock Port, Missouri.
Lyle was baptized at the Zion Lutheran Church in Magnolia in 1943. He attended Sunday school, vacation Bible school, and was confirmed in June of 1957 all at this church. Lyle was a volunteer Fireman with the Logan Fire Department. Lyle loved traveling on his motorcycle. He also loved to garden and work with wood, and he was a master cabinetmaker. Another favorite of Lyle's was watching the older television shows.
Lyle died on Saturday, June 26, 2010, at the Creighton Medical Center in Omaha at the age of 67 years, one month and 19 days.
Lyle was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Bucy of Magnolia, Iowa; three sons, David (Kris) Michael of Logan, Iowa, Barry (Kristin) Michael of Bellevue, Nebraska, Ryan Michael of Council Bluffs, Iowa; three step children, Debra Adams of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Derek Bucy of Logan, Iowa, Davin Bucy of Grand Island, Nebraska; four grandchildren; four step grandchildren; two brothers, Eugene (Jane) Michael of Magnolia, Iowa, Paul (Joan) Michael of Orange Park, Florida; and many other relatives and friends.
