Marcella Mary (Shreeves) Glassburner was born May 2, 1919, at Dunlap, Iowa, to Joseph and Augusta (Thomas) Shreeves. She attended Dunlap Public School. Marcella married Logsdon Valjean Glassburner on February 25, 1941, at the Methodist Parsonage in Dunlap. They enjoyed 50 years of marriage before Valjean's death. She was a homemaker and enjoyed her family and home. Marcella lived most of her life in Dunlap except for the time she traveled with her husband during World War II and from 1974-1980 when they lived in Carroll, Iowa.
Marcella was a member of United Methodist Church at Dunlap, and the Dunlap American Legion Auxiliary.
Marcella died on July 31, 2008, at the Dunlap Care and Rehab Center at the age of 89 years, two months, and 29 days.
Marcella was preceded in death by her husband, Valjean, four brothers, Edward, Robert, Lloyd (Ben), and Floyd (infancy) Shreeves; and one sister Helen Halverson. Survivors include two sons, Bob and his wife Judy Glassburner of Omaha, Nebraska; Joe and his wife Margie Glassburner of Carroll, Iowa; four grandchildren, Teri Lohrmann, Ryan, Aaron and Nathan Glassburner; six great grand-children: Jaydn, Sierra, Colton, Abby, Molly and Alex and other relatives and friends.
