Marie Stegemann

     Marie Ann Stegemann was born on July 20, 1986, in Missouri Valley, Iowa to Steve and Amy (Archer) Brandon. She graduated from Woodbine High School in 2005. Marie worked as a CNA at Longview Nursing Home and at a couple nursing homes in Carroll, Iowa. Marie was married to Benjamin Stegemann on August 20, 2011, in Denison. The couple lived wherever Ben’s job took them which included Carroll, Mason City, Iowa and Waterloo, Iowa.

     Marie loved to experiment in the kitchen, where written recipes were just a suggested starting point. She cherished time with their animals and visiting family. Marie was an avid Nightmare Before Christmas fan.

    Marie died on January 14, 2023, at Mercy One Hospital in Waterloo at the age of 36 years, five months and 25 days.

    Marie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jim and Donna Archer and Bill Brandon; and one aunt and one uncle. She is survived by her husband Benjamin of Waterloo; mother, Amy and her husband Kenard Swift of Woodbine; father, Steve Brandon and his wife Carol of Logan, Iowa; brother, Tommy Brandon of Logan; grandmother, Kathy Brandon of Council Bluffs, Iowa; parents-in-law, Ron and Beth Cates of Carroll; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and many other relatives and friends.
