Marion Dickman

d. February 1, 2009

Woodbine, Iowa

Marion Pauline (Nielson) Dickman was born December 23, 1920, to Bert C. and Anna (Engel) Nielson in Omaha, Nebraska. Marion married Harold Howard Dickman Sr. on February 7, 1942, in Omaha, Nebraska. To this union were born fours sons and three daughters. The couple lived on a farm near Woodbine. Marion was a farm wife and she was a very good cook. She prepared many meals for family and neighbors. Many guests at her table bragged to her of the bounty from her table.

Marion was a member of the Christian Science Church. She was the moral compass for her family. She thoroughly enjoyed time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She never met a kid she didn't like and that goes for cookies too.

Marion died on Sunday, February 1, 2009, at Methodist Manor in Storm Lake, Iowa at the age of 88 years, one month, and nine days.

Marion was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold Dickman on May 9, 2000; three brothers, Bert (Virginia) Nielson, Bud Nielson and infant William Nielson; two sisters, Louise (Ralph) Windland and Betty (Manford) Hansen. She is survived by her four sons, "Dick" Harold (Cheryl) Dickman of Missouri Valley, Iowa, "Rich" (Linda) Dickman, Dave Dickman and Danny (Sandy) Dickman all of Woodbine, Iowa; three daughters, Kathleen (Virgil) Bielenberg of Storm Lake, Iowa, Diana (Keith) Mann of Lake Oswego, Oregon, "Jean" Alice (Steve) Hansen of Roland, Iowa; 17 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; one sister, June (Willy) Craven of Omaha, Nebraska; and many other relatives and friends.
