Marjorie Gore

Marjorie Jean (Heitmann) Gore was born December 10, 1940, to Carl and Arrel (Nellor) Heitmann in West Point, Nebraska. She was raised in Beemer, Nebraska and attended country school and graduated from Beemer High School in 1959. Marjorie moved to Omaha and worked for Mutual of Omaha. On April 30, 1962, Marjorie married Daniel Gore at the Offutt Air Force Base. After Dan’s discharge the couple lived in West Virginia and then returned to Omaha where Marjorie stayed home to raise her family.

Marjorie loved to read and do embroidery. She would frequently donate her embroidered items for raffles for the Headstart program. She also enjoyed working crossword puzzles, playing video games and most importantly spending time with her grandchildren. She thoroughly loved having her family around.

Marjorie died on Friday, May 6, 2011, at her home in Pisgah at the age of 70 years, four months, and 26 days.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Daniel Gore in 1999, son Danny in 1996; and sister, Lois Schneider. She is survived by her four children, Carl Gore of Pisgah, Iowa, Sue Kohl of Woodbine, Iowa, Catherine Fagan and her fiancée John Self of Missouri Valley, Iowa, Beth and her husband Bob Barry of Omaha, Nebraska; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy Weatherford of Darlington, South Carolina, Betty and her husband Larry Sila of Omaha, Nebraska, Rose and her husband Jack Pangburn of Atlantic, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
