Marvin Eugene Holsapple was born May 7, 1931, to Harvey and Violet (Bryan) Holsapple. He was raised in Pisgah and attended county school and then graduated from Pisgah High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for four years. On July 21, 1951, Marvin married Norma Kucks. The couple lived in Biloxi Mississippi, Colorado, and Long Beach California before returning to Pisgah in 1956 to farm. In addition to farming, Marvin was a television repairman and also drove the school bus for the West Harrison Schools.
Marvin enjoyed reading and watching baseball ~ especially the Atlanta Braves. Marvin played baseball on the town team. He loved his grandchildren and helped them with their homework. Marvin loved just being at home.
Marvin died on Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at the Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley, Iowa at the age of 81 years, four months, and 11 days.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Norma Holsapple on February 19, 2004; son, Michael Holsapple on May 28, 2011; and four infant grandsons. He is survived by his three children, Dennis Holsapple and his wife Patricia Winter of Wilmette, Illinois, Nancy and her husband Fred Radloff of Pisgah, Iowa, John Holsapple and his wife Tamara of Omaha, Nebraska; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Edna Mae Morgan of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Hazel "Babe" and her husband Dick Alton of Pisgah, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
