Michael John Godden was born May 4, 1982, to Michael and Linda (Wohlers) Godden in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was raised in Logan and graduated from Lo-Ma High School in 2000. While in high school, Michael enjoyed football and wrestling, and he made it to the state wrestling meet his senior year. After graduation, Michael worked with his step-father at DAMAC Builders. He also operated heavy equipment for M & S Grating, Jam Construction and JC Excavating. He was recently accepted into Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Phoenix, Arizona. Michael married Dusti Foland on October 13, 2007, at Mount Crescent in Crescent, Iowa.

Michael was known for his sense of humor. He enjoyed playing the guitar, hunting, fishing, traveling, grilling and cooking. He took great pleasure in spending time with his family and friends and his two dogs, Bono and Bear.

Michael died on Friday, November 23, 2007, as a result of an automobile accident, at the age of 25 years, six months, and 19 days.

Michael is survived by his wife, Dusti Godden of Pisgah, Iowa; mother Linda and her husband Don MacMillan; father, Michael Godden and his wife Michelle; sister, Abby Godden; step-brother, Kenny MacMillan; two grandmothers, Maxine Lesline and Rita Wohlers Bean; step-grandparents, Rick and Vergene Ohl, Ron and Jan Norton; all of Logan, Iowa; mother-in-law, Sheryl Mumm of Woodbine, Iowa; father-in-law, Garry Foland of Peotone, Illinois, two sisters-in-law, Sha Foland of Palo Alto, California, Autumn Foland of Omaha, Nebraska; and many other relatives and friends.
