Mildred Jane (McLeod) Dimitroff was born on November 1, 1921 in Denver, Colorado to parents Smart and Bernice (Trevithick) McLeod. She was raised in Denver and graduated from North High in Denver in 1940. Right after graduation she worked at the Munitions Plant in Denver. Millie married Otis P. Sherrill. In 1956, Millie went to work at the United Bank of Denver. She started out working as a teller and retired from the bank as a Trust Administrator in the Trust Department. Otis died in 1961. Millie married A.Z. (Dimi) Dimitroff in 1966. Millie retired from the bank when she was 62. Dimi died in 2001. Millie moved to Pisgah in May 2002 to be close to her daughter.
Millie was a member of the Applewood Methodist Church in Golden, Colorado. After moving to Pisgah she became a member of Mondamin Baptist Church. She enjoyed golfing and bowling and was an active member of Lakewood Country Club in Lakewood, Colorado. She enjoyed doing counted cross stitch, crossword puzzles and reading.
Millie was preceded in death by parents, two husbands, two sisters, Rena Donaldson and Jean Myers, brother, Neil McLeod and daughter, Marjorie Bill. She is survived by two daughters, Janet and her husband Bob Herman of Modale, Iowa and Carole Rouse of Estes Park, Colorado; step children, Jan and her husband Jerry Browning of Boulder, Colorado and Mark Dimitroff and his wife LaVonne of Clifton, Virginia; 15 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; one great great grandson; two sisters, Betty Stevens of Montrose, Colorado and Barbara Barnkow and her husband Carl of Grand Junction, Colorado and other relatives and friends.
Memorials may be directed to the Mondamin Baptist Church or the Rose Vista Nursing Home in Woodbine, Iowa.
