Mildred R. Heller VIDEO TRIBUTE
Mildred Ruth (Weber) Heller was born July 11, 1915, to Henry John and Helen Irene (Houlihan) Weber in Boyer Township Dunlap, Iowa. Millie attended country school then she helped area families. Millie married Leo J. Heller on November 27, 1934, at St. Patrick's Church. The couple farmed in the Dunlap area then moved into town in the late 1970s. Leo died on August 28, 1996.
Millie was a member of the St. Patrick's Altar Society, Catholic Daughters, the Busy Neighbor Club, and the ODO Club. She liked to bowl, needlepoint, fish, bake, play bingo, and make ceramics. She also liked to make the grocery boxes for the fall dinner at church. Millie was always ready for a card game and if you stopped to visit, she always had food ready or a cookie to share. Millie really loved the farm life, canning and tending to the baby chickens.
Millie died on Wednesday, January 4, 2006, at Alegent Health Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley, Iowa attaining the age of 90 years, five months, and 24 days.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leo; son, Mike Heller in 1970; and an infant son in 1948; three infant siblings, Ronnie, Dorothy and Phyllis Weber; four sisters, Irene Schaefer, Delores Rethmeier, Marie Honaker, Lucille Kendall; and two brothers, Ray and Donald Weber. She is survived by her four children, John Heller and his wife Sharon of Dunlap, Iowa, Bill Heller and his wife Sandy of Omaha, Nebraska, Rose Ann and her husband Sonny Klein of Omaha, Nebraska, Bob Heller and his wife Becky of Omaha, Nebraska; 10 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one sister, Joan and her husband Jim Davie and one brother, Bob Weber and his wife Lorraine all of Dunlap and many other relatives and friends.
