NAOMI ANN MUXFELDT
Naomi Ann Muxfeldt was born April 24, 1914 in the Harris Grove neighborhood south east of Logan. She passed away October 13, 2004 at the Rose Vista Nursing Home in Woodbine, Iowa. She was the daughter of George and Daisy (Good) Ball. She went to country school and graduated from Logan High School with the class of 1930. Naomi married Vern Muxfeldt on May 1, 1938 at Logan, Iowa.
In 1950 Vern and Naomi moved to Mondamin and opened Muxfeldt Farm Supply. They continued in business until Vern passed away in January of 1971. After Vern's death Naomi sold the Farm Supply and became the librarian for the new Mondamin Public Library. She remained as librarian until she retired in 1998.
Naomi was very active in civic affairs in the Mondamin community. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Mondamin. She was a member of the Eastern Star chapter at Modale. Naomi enjoyed bowling and the team she was on competed in several state bowling tournaments. Reading, traveling, and meeting people were some of her other enjoyable activities. Naomi truly never met a stranger.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vern. Three brothers-Richard, Alister, and Israel, and two sisters Pearl and Lucy. She is survived by two sisters. Opal and her husband Howard Baker of Lamoni, Iowa and Mary Ball of New York City; many nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorials may be made to the Mondamin Public library.
Memorial Services will be at 4:00 PM, Sunday at the Fouts Funeral Home in Woodbine, Iowa.
