Nedra Gail Fliehe was born on October 3, 1949, in Huron, South Dakota to parents Lloyd and Mabel (McNeely) Cavenee. She graduated from Tulare High School in 1967 and Aberdeen School of Commerce with a Business Degree in 1968. She worked for insurance adjusting agency and for Northern State College in Aberdeen, South Dakota. On June 27, 1970, Nedra married Gordon Fliehe in Redfield, South Dakota. After the couple moved to Logan, she worked at Schemmers Quarry and then in 1981 started to work for the City of Logan as a deputy city clerk, before being named the Logan City Administrator in 1995. She took pride in helping raise money for the new Logan Community Center, Logan swimming pool and helped in getting the Logan sign at the west edge of town. She worked hard to make sure the funds raised were not taxpayer money. She also really enjoyed helping the elderly at the city hall. Nedra retired from the city after 30 years in 2011.
Nedra was an active member of the St. Anne Catholic Church and a member of the Logan Kiwanis Club. She enjoyed all kinds of crafts, especially making scrapbooks for their grandsons. She enjoyed watching the grandsons in all of their activities. Nedra was known for saying, no matter how you played, “You looked good in your uniform.” She enjoyed going to movies and holding babies. Nedra cherished getting together with all her friends and family.
Nedra passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, on December 25, 2021, at Westmont Care Center in Logan at the age of 72 years, two months and 22 days.
