Norma Alexia (Adams) Hickey was born December 26, 1933, to Alexander and Marie (Lizer) Adams in Woodbine, Iowa. She was raised in Woodbine and graduated from Woodbine High School in 1951. Norma moved to Omaha and worked at Mutual of Omaha. On February 26, 1954, Norma married Pat Hickey in Maryville, Missouri. The couple lived in Woodbine and was blessed with three children. After the kids left home, Norma began working for Dr. Wendt in Woodbine and then later for Dr. Garvey's dental offices. Norma retired after her 65th birthday in December of 1998.

Norma was a member of the Community of Christ. Norma never missed one of her children's activities or events. She loved to go bowling as well as playing cards and bingo. Norma especially enjoyed her grandchildren. She is known for making her delicious peanut brittle and giving that as a gift during the Christmas season.

Norma died on Sunday, March 2, 2008, at Rose Vista Nursing Home in Woodbine, Iowa attaining the age of 74 years, two months, and five days.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Pat Hickey on February 1, 1998; and brother-in-law John Weiss. She is survived by three children, Mike (Susan) Hickey of Omaha, Nebraska, Tricia (Joe) Guinan of Fremont, Nebraska, Susan (Bill) Donovan of Baltimore, Maryland; five grandchildren, Ann Marie and Scott Hickey, Alison Guinan, Meghan and Caitlin Donovan; one sister, Donna Weiss of Dow City, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
