Otis Raymond Frazier "Junie" was born February 26, 1925, to Otis Raymond and Celia Ethel (Renz-Gage) Frazier in Dunlap, Iowa. Junie grew up in Dunlap and graduated from Dunlap High School in 1942. Following his graduation, he was drafted into the Army Air Corps and served during WWII. He attended Aviation Cadet Training - Air Crew and was a certified navigator. He was then assigned to the medical corps in the U.S. Army and served in Central Europe and the Rhineland. On January 2, 1952, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth (Betty) Feser at St. Peter's Church in Defiance, Iowa. The couple made their home in Dunlap. Otis worked for the Spot/IGA grocery store in Dunlap for over 25 years before working for Omaha Steel in Woodbine and Farmland in Denison.
Otis was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Dunlap, VFW, and the American Legion in Dunlap. Otis loved family gatherings at holiday time, talking about his family history and reading outdoor magazines. He was an avid hunter and trapper. He also loved to fish, pick wild berries, and hunt mushrooms. In his earlier days, there was nothing better than a good card game.
Otis died on Saturday, July 16, 2005, at the Dunlap Nursing and Rehab Center in Dunlap, Iowa attaining the age of 80 years, four months, and 21 days.
Otis was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Louise Yount and Vera Holmes; and two brothers, Conrad (Bus) Gage and Wally Gage. He is survived by his wife, Betty Frazier of Dunlap, Iowa; four children, Randy Frazier and his wife Linda of Dunlap, Iowa, Margie and her husband Joe Glassburner of Carroll, Iowa, Judy and her husband Marty Kramolisch of Omaha, Nebraska, Dick Frazier and his wife Diana of Dow City, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Marie Johnson of Edmond, Oklahoma; and many other relatives and friends.
