Pamela Kay Steinkuehler was born on September 7, 1953, in Denison, Iowa to Darrell and Evelyn (Samuelson) Wagner. Pam started school in Woodbine and then the family moved to Des Moines where Pam graduated from Des Moines East High School in 1971. On November 24, 1973, Pam married Bill Steinkuehler. Pam's career began at Tasty Tacos where she managed one of their locations in Des Moines. In 1972, she moved back to Woodbine and started working at the Corn Palace for owners Ardith and Harry Vaughn. Pam worked there until she retired in the spring of 2023 when her health wouldn't allow her to continue.
Pam had several hobbies that brought joy to her life. She enjoyed watching Nascar races and spending time outdoors tending to her garden and mushroom hunting. Fishing and boating were also among her favorite pastimes. Pam was most proud of her family and loved nothing more than following and cheering on her grandkids in their many events and activities.
Pam died on May 22nd, 2023, at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 69 years, 8 months and 15 days.
Pam was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a brother, Mark Wagner. She is survived by her three sons, Shane Steinkuehler and his wife Kelli of Woodbine, Joey Steinkuehler and his wife Samantha of Woodbine and Chad Steinkuehler and his wife Brittani of Persia, Iowa; seven grandchildren; four siblings, Patty Christo, Judy and her husband Tom Erlewine, Bob Wagner and his wife Bev and Tom Wagner all of Woodbine, and many other relatives and friends.
