Perry Christensen

Perry Lee Christensen was born April 17, 1962, to Eugene and Karen (Nuzum) Christensen in Missouri Valley, Iowa. He was raised in Pisgah and graduated from West Harrison High School in 1980. He then attended Drake and Upper Iowa University. Perry moved to Garden City, Kansas and worked at IBP for five years. He then transferred with IBP to West Point, Nebraska. In the early 1990s Perry moved home and to help farm and became a brick layer and he joined the Bricklayer's Union and worked for various companies. In 2002 he started working at Christensen Refractory with his brother, Pat.

Perry played football and baseball and he wrestled while in high school. He was 2nd in the state his senior year of wrestling and was the All Conference Catcher in baseball. Perry also wrestled for Drake University. Perry loved his dog, Flo. He also enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, tinkering on things and being outdoors.

Perry died Sunday, July 4, 2010, at his home in Pisgah, Iowa at the age of 48 years, two months, and 17 days.

Perry was preceded in death by his grandparents. He is survived by his stepson, Tyler Christensen of Collensville, Oklahoma; parents Eugene and Karen Christensen of Pisgah, Iowa; two brothers, Pat Christensen and his wife Kim of Pisgah, Iowa, David Christensen and his wife Jana all of Moorhead, Iowa; two nephews, Lucas and Daniel; one niece, Brandi; and many other relatives and friends.
