Randy Allen Francis was born on July 13, 1971, to Larry and Connie (Christensen) Francis in St. Paul, Nebraska. He attended
elementary school in Fullerton, Nebraska and graduated from high school in 1989 from Central City, Nebraska. He graduated from Northwest Missouri State in 1993 with a degree in agriculture business. On September 18, 1999, Randy married Melanie Lubbers at the First Christian Church in Woodbine. The couple was blessed with two boys - Wyatt and Layne. Randy worked for First National Bank in Omaha, Sibley, and Blair before going to work for Farm Credit Services in Harlan in September of 2001.
Randy was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, and playing basketball. Randy was a cowboy at heart and loved animals. Randy's favorite past time was playing with his sons. Randy was active in many civic organizations in the various towns he lived in. He was a member of the Woodbine Optimist Club, Harrison County Cattlemen, Texas Longhorn Association, NRA, Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, and the Turkey Federation. He attended the First Christian Church in Woodbine.
Randy died on Sunday, April 11, 2004, in an automobile accident near Woodbine, Iowa, at the age of 32 years, eight months, and 29 days.
Randy was preceded in death by his father Larry in July of 1995. He is survived by his wife Melanie Francis of Woodbine, Iowa; two sons Wyatt 2 1/2 years old and Layne fifteen months old of Woodbine; mother Connie Reeves of Central City, Nebraska;
sister Jennifer and her husband Greg Lani of Fullerton, Nebraska; brother Brian Francis of Palmer, Nebraska; and many other
relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be at 10:30 AM Thursday at the Christian Church in Woodbine. Visitation begins at 4 PM Tuesday and continues on Wednesday til 4 PM at Fouts Funeral Home in Woodbine and will begin at 5:30 PM, Wednesday at the St. Patrick's Parish Center in Dunlap with a prayer service at 7:30 PM.
