Richard "Fonce" Alan Crane was born December 26, 1954, to Kermit and Beulah (Reis) Crane in Denison, Iowa. Richard was raised in Dunlap, Iowa and graduated from Dunlap High School in 1973. He went on to work for IBP in Dakota City, Nebraska for five years and then worked for Farmland in Denison, Iowa for five years. He also worked for a cold storage warehouse in Omaha, Nebraska. Richard then attended Iowa Western Community College for two years and received his degree in Informational Technology in 1992. After graduation he returned to Dunlap, Iowa.
Richard loved to watch sports and was an avid Green Bay Packers, Los Angeles Lakers and St Louis Cardinals fan.
Richard died on Sunday, March 6, 2011, at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, Iowa at the age of 56 years, two months, and eight days.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew Gary L. Crane in 2009. He was survived by his four brothers, Gene Crane and his wife Andrea of Exira, Iowa, Jim Crane and his wife Lynne of Phoenix, Arizona, Gary Crane and his wife Connie of Aurora, Missouri and Bob Crane and his wife Marla of Marshalltown, Iowa; two sisters, Judy Crane of Dunlap, Iowa and Donna Windle and her friend Jeff Robinson of Sioux City, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
