Robert “Bob” Lynn Androy was born January 28, 1947, to Glen and Charlotte (Browning) Androy near Woodbine, Iowa. He graduated from East Monona High School in 1965. In 1966 Bob was selected by the draft system to join the U.S. Army for duty in the Vietnam War. He returned home in 1968, receiving the Red Bull Award for recognition of outstanding performance and an Honorable Discharge as staff sergeant. Bob was a professional in dry walling for 42 years; of which part of those years he owned and operated R and A Drywall.
Bob loved and cherished the times he spent with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was an active member in the Lifeline Assembly of God Church in Dunlap. Bob enjoyed fishing, bowling, building and racing stock cars with the boys.
Bob died peacefully while at sleep on Sunday, May 16, 2011, at his home in Dunlap, Iowa at the age of 64 years, three months and 18 days. Bob’s battle with colon cancer was over, but never hindered his strong faith and trust in the Lord.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather; two infant sisters, Debbie Sue and Kaylynn Androy; and son, Andy in 2008. He is survived by his wife, Jackie of Dunlap, Iowa; four children, Tom and his wife Patty of Dunlap, Iowa, Jason of Clarinda, Iowa, Melissa and Tony Ritterbush of Dunlap, Iowa, Jodi and Kevin Bruck of Dunlap, Iowa; stepson, Jim Bennett and his wife Betty of Woodbine; stepdaughter, Vicki Reger of Colton, California; daughter-in-law, Sheila Androy of Dunlap, Iowa; 15 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; five siblings, Jack Androy and his wife Phyllis of Otto, Iowa, Connie and her husband Charlie Kerger of Woodbine, Iowa, Roger Androy and his wife Joan of Logan, Iowa, Linda and her husband Marty Toms of Scranton, Iowa, Mary and her husband Andy Arndt of Woodbine, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
