Robert Radloff

Robert Edwin Radloff was born September 7, 1924, to Albert and Viola (Vanderpool) Radloff in Harrison County, Iowa. He was raised near Woodbine and graduated from Woodbine H.S. in 1944. Bob started working for the Railroad and then worked with road construction at Irving F. Jensen Construction in Sioux City for 49 years. He was a foreman and superintendent. In 1952 Bob married Kathryn Sorenson. The couple lived in Woodbine and was blessed with four children, Bob, Steve, Monte and Rhonda. On September 1, 1973, Bob married Tilcia Collett. The couple lived in Magnolia and was blessed with two children, Ted and Lennell. Tilcia died in a car accident on October 28, 2004.

Bob "Rip" had a passion for baseball ~ especially the St. Louis Cardinals. He was also quite a player himself. He played for the Woodbine traveling team. He played against Bob Gibson and proudly shared that he got two hits off of Bob. He also enjoyed horse and dog racing and polka music.

Bob died Friday, April 1, 2016, at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha at the age of 91 years, six months, and 25 days.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Tilcia; ex-wife, Kathryn; granddaughter, Kayla Adair; and brother, Delbert Radloff. He is survived by six children, Bob (Angie) Radloff of Woodbine, Iowa, Steve (Mindy) Radloff of Wall Lake, Iowa, Monte Radloff of Early, Iowa, Rhonda Heck of Gowrie, Iowa, Ted (Jill) Radloff of Corcoran, Minnesota, Lennell (Dustin) Oxenreider of Raytown, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Jay Radloff, Drew Radloff, Joni Radloff, Jessica Barnett, Echo Miller, Monte Lee Radloff, AJ Radloff, Trenton Radloff, Francesca Oxenreider; seven great grandchildren, Tatum, Tanner, Tyne, Tabor, Trey, Preston and Jaelynn; sister, Iva (Freeman) Vandemark of Woodbine, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
