Rosanna (Newland) Hard was born January 3, 1927, to James and Katherine (White) Newland in Dunlap, Iowa. She was raised in Dunlap and Dow City and graduated from Dow City High School in 1944. Rosanna married Charlie J. Hard on February 6, 1946, in Denver, Colorado. The couple lived in Omaha from 1951 to 2002. Rosanna worked for Ak-sar-ben Refrigeration Service Company, �lan, and Dana, Larson & Rubel all in Omaha, Nebraska. In November of 2002, the couple moved to Phoenix, Arizona.
Rosanna enjoyed square dancing, polka dancing and oil painting. She showed AKC Airedale's and was a member of the Council Bluffs Kennel Club, Companion Dog Club in Omaha and Sun Country Terrier Club in Phoenix.
Rosanna died on Wednesday, August 6, 2008, in Phoenix, Arizona attaining the age of 81 years, seven months, and three days.
Rosanna was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Pat, Chuck, Barney, James, Francis and Art Newland; and two sisters, Catherine Brady and Bernice Renfrow. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Charlie of Phoenix, Arizona; son, Steve Hard; two daughters, Diane Hard of Omaha, Nebraska, Patricia and her husband David Hansen of Omaha, Nebraska; grandson, Conrad Hansen; niece, Sally and her husband Robert Pryor; grand nieces, Lori, Samantha and Montgomery and many other relatives and friends.
