Rosemary Grady, a local businesswoman and entrepreneur, died on August 2, 2006, at the age of 58.
She was an irreverent wit, a devoted animal lover, a licensed pilot, and a life-long athlete.
Born in Omaha, Nebraska, Rosemary was the second child of Dolores Grady and the late Wendell Grady.
She graduated from Dunlap Community High School in 1965 where she was a member of the All State girls' basketball team. In 1969, she graduated from the University of Iowa with a Business Administration degree and embarked on a career in sales and finance on the east coast and Florida. However, her heart remained in rural Iowa and in 1989, she acquired a farm east of Logan where she became an enthusiastic steward of the land. She also established and operated several internet based companies from her farm.
Rosemary is survived by her mother, Dolores Grady; brothers, Patrick Grady and James (Jane) Grady; sisters, Dr. Ann (Wayne) Burress, Suzanne Grady, Sara (Robert Bledsoe) Grady, and Maureen Grady-Tatge; nieces, nephews and extended family.
