Russell Edward Rolle was born July 16, 1934, to Russell Edward Rolle was born July 16, 1934, to William and Flora (Summers) Rolle in Brinsmade, North Dakota. He was raised in North Dakota and entered the U.S. Air Force at the age of 17. He proudly served his country from 1951~1955. Russell married Raeola Dai at Offutt Air Force Base on October 18, 1954. After his honorable discharge the couple moved to Leeds, North Dakota, and he worked as a tractor diesel mechanic. In 1967 they moved to Moorhead, Iowa where he worked as a tractor mechanic at Griffith's Hardware. In 1984 they moved to Dunlap.
Russell liked to collect things, polish old tools and refinish furniture. He loved to go to auctions.
Russell died April 8, 2009, at the Dunlap Care Center at the age of 74 years, eight months, and 23 days.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, William, Howard and Wayne Rolle; and one granddaughter, Lacie Sell. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Raeola Rolle of Dunlap, Iowa; eight children, Randy (Jeanne) Rolle of Seabeck, WA, Ronald Rolle of Williston, ND, Russell (Rachel) Rolle of Rixeyville, VA, Rhonda Rolle of Colorado Springs, CO, Ruth Patterson of Omaha, NE, Rodney (Carla) Rolle of Madison Lake, MN, Raymond (Rhonda) Rolle of Warrenton, VA, Roger (Sandi) Rolle of Ruthers Glen, VA; 14 grandchildren; three great grandsons; three brothers, Eugene (Patti) Rolle of Mitchell, SD, Gary (Donna) Rolle of Leeds, ND, Jim (Linda) Rolle of Missoula, MT; one sister, Shirley (Leonard) Deplazes of York, ND; and many other relatives and friends.
