Ruth Bonsall

Ruth Delores Bonsall was born May 10, 1918, near Dunlap, Iowa to parents Roy and Bess (Reeder) Cook. She graduated from Dunlap High School in 1936. On December 28, 1936, Ruth married Darrel Hansen. To this union one daughter was born, Jannes.

The couple lived between Dunlap and Earling and later moved into Dunlap. Darrel died in 1967. Ruth married Harold Bonsall on October 3, 1969. Ruth had worked at the telephone office in Dunlap, Briardales Grocery Store and in the office at the Dunlap Sale Barn.

Ruth was a member of the Dunlap United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed playing bridge.

Ruth died on Thursday, January 7, 2010, at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 91 years, seven months, and 28 days.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Darrel Hansen; son-in-law Arvin Peters and two brothers, Garold and Charles "Buddy" Cook. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Harold Bonsall of Dunlap, Iowa; daughter Jannes Peters of Council Bluffs, Iowa; two grandsons, Michael Peters and his wife Connie and Mark Peters and his wife Sharon all of Council Bluffs, Iowa; three great grandchildren Kristina, Ian and Ariele and many other relatives and friends.
