Sharon Louise (Edwards) Sullivan was born on November 8, 1937, in Dunlap, Iowa to parents Jasper L. and Vera M. (Corey) Edwards. She attended country school and graduated from Dunlap High School in 1955. She went to work in downtown Omaha for an insurance company and then at Mutual of Omaha. On August 4, 1956, she married Kenneth Sullivan. Sharon graduated from Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs with an Associate's Degree. She was the executive director for the Harrison County Development Corporation for 10 years. She also served on the Dunlap School board for 15 years and was president of the board for a number of years. She was honored with the appointment by Governor Vilsack to the Iowa Student Loan Liquidity Corp.
Sharon was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Dunlap. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters and the Entre Nous Club.
Sharon died on Saturday, March 19, 2005, at the Dunlap Nursing and Rehab Center at the age of 67 years, four months, and 11 days.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and son-in-law Jeff Cable. She is survived by her husband Ken Sullivan of Dunlap, Iowa, children Lori Cable of Omaha, Nebraska, Mary & Charles Matherly of Omaha, Nebraska, Kevin Sullivan of Persia Iowa, Tim & Shannon Sullivan of Omaha, Nebraska, Mark & Linda Sullivan of Lodi, California; nine granchildren, Timothy Matherly, Abigail Matherly, Corey Cable, Anna Cable, Megan Cable, Monica Cable, Bailey Sullivan, Breanna Sullivan and Timothy Leo Sullivan; sister Joyce Jansen of San Antonio, Texas and many other relatives and friends.
