Stephen Edward Healey was born September 16, 1961, to Robert Sr. and Pearl (Spires) Healey in Springfield, Missouri. He grew up in St. Joseph, Missouri and graduated from Central High School in 1980. Steve then attended Northwest Missouri State and graduated with a BS in physical education. Steve married Deneen Crandall on June 7, 1986, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Dunlap, Iowa. Steve worked for Southland Corp. (7-11 stores) and worked his way up to supervisor. He then worked for Jacobus Oil Company in Madison, Wisconsin and Farmland Industries-Ampride Division in marketing and design. Steve then worked with his father at Great Western Animal Supply as vice-president and sales manager of veterinary distribution. The couple lived in New Mexico for seven years. They then returned to Iowa and he worked at Sinclair Oil as a supervisor and district manager. In January of 2007 Steve was promoted to manager in charge of the retail division of Sinclair Oil in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Steve was very athletic and enjoyed football, baseball, racket ball, golf, and swimming. He also loved the Kansas City Chiefs. Steve enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and movies as well.
Steve died Thursday, October 11, 2007, at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha at the age of 46 years and 25 days.
Steve is survived by his wife, Deneen Healey of Logan, Iowa; two daughters, Nichole and Joeona Healey both of Logan, Iowa; parents, Robert Sr. and Pearl Healey of Placitas, New Mexico; two brothers, Robert Healey Jr. and his wife Angie of Albuquerque, New Mexico, David Healey and his wife Cheryl of Fort Smith, Arkansas; sister, Dianna and her husband Terry Schluter of Tierra Verde, Florida; grandmother, Shirley Burton of Springfield, Missouri; parents-in-law, Jack and Dona Crandall of Dunlap, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
