Susan Breyer

Susan Jean Breyer was born on April 6, 1952, in White Plains, New York to Chester Albert and Jean T. (Downs) Bauers. She grew up in Colorado and Nebraska graduating from Lincoln Northeast High School with the class of 1970. On October 25, 1970, Sue married Lonnie Breyer at St. John Catholic Church in Lincoln. The couple lived in Lincoln and Ashland, Nebraska, Gravois Mills, Missouri, Bay City, Texas area and then back to Lincoln. The couple moved to Dunlap, Iowa in 1999. Sue worked at High Grain in Lincoln, Fibertech and a pencil factory in Missouri and then Perfection Press in Logan.

Sue was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Dunlap. She had been active with the WELCA at some of the other Lutheran churches they belonged to and played in the bell choir at their church in Missouri. Sue loved to read (religious fiction), crochet, collect angels, humming birds, autumn leaf jewel tea and nativity sets. The couple loved to travel and square dance.

Sue died Wednesday, February 8, 2017, at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan at the age of 64 years, 10 months and two days.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Lonnie Breyer of Dunlap, Iowa; sister, Carol Bateman of Nunnelly, Tennessee; nephew, Jacob A. Neal of Erie, Colorado; three brothers-in-law, Leland Breyer and his wife Phyllis of Kissimmee, Florida, Loyce Breyer and his wife Louise of Phillipsburg, Kansas and Lyman Breyer and his wife Sharon of Scottsdale, Arizona; one sister-in-law, Loretta and her husband Tim Thimgan of Lincoln, Nebraska; and many other relatives an friends.
