Terry Lee Francis, 59, of Logan went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, July 26, 2014, after having bravely fought cancer for the last 15 months. The son of Oscar and Florence (Roberts) Francis, Terry was born April 6, 1955, and graduated from Lo-Ma High School with the class of 1973. He enjoyed working with his father in road construction for a number of years, mainly in western Nebraska. In January of 1979, Terry met Linda Barnes through mutual friends, Judy and Alan Whitmore. They married in December of that same year. During the nearly 35 years of marriage they were blessed with three children, Sara, Andrew and Anna and lived in Logan, New London and Atlantic, Iowa. In 1983 he began his career with the Iowa Department of Transportation's Office of Motor Vehicle Enforcement as an officer and investigator. After his retirement in 2010, Terry began his own consulting company dealing with safety compliance.
Terry was a member of the Logan Christian Church where he served as an Elder and Deacon. He was a fan of Iowa State football and riding and playing trains with his grandson, Stephen. Terry also loved to fish in Minnesota.
Terry was preceded in death by his grandparents; father; and daughter, Sara. He is survived by his wife, Linda Francis of Logan, Iowa; mother, Florence Francis of Logan, Iowa; son Andrew Francis and his wife Amber and their sons, Stephen and Caleb all of Logan, Iowa; daughter, Anna and her husband Matthew Allen and daughter Alexandra all of Neola, Iowa; aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
