Tim Ehlert

Timothy Lynn Ehlert was born March 23, 1966, to Richard and Elaine (Smith) Ehlert in Missouri Valley, Iowa. He was raised in Woodbine and graduated from Woodbine High School in 1984. Tim then attended Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon, Iowa to become a power lineman. He worked at Coon Rapids Municipal, Midlands REC in Boone, Iowa and for North Central Lines Service before starting his employment with Harrison County REC in 2007. Tim married Bert Klaahsen on September 16, 1995, at his parents' home.

Tim loved to hunt, fish, camp, go to bow shoots and was a member of the Woodbine Saddle Club. Tim's family was very important to him and he really enjoyed going to Jacolby's sporting events.

Tim died on Sunday, December 13, 2009, at the Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley, Iowa at the age of 43 years, eight months, and 20 days.

Tim was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Corrie Ehlert and Arthur Smith and his uncle Dean Smith. He is survived by his son, Jacolby Ehlert and his mother Bert Klaahsen of Woodbine, Iowa; parents, Rich & Elaine Ehlert of Woodbine, Iowa; sister, Becky Brooks of Harlan, Iowa; brothers, Steve Ehlert of Woodbine, Iowa and Danny (Catie) Ehlert of Emmetsburg, Iowa; grandmothers, Edna Ehlert and Jessie Smith both of Woodbine, Iowa; nieces and nephews, Shea, Maggie, Danni and Adam Ehlert, Dylan & Jaysa Ehlert, and Aaron and Chelsea Brooks; and many other relatives and friends.
