Vera Sadie (Oliver) Clark was born March 19, 1923, to Leslie and Ethel (Smith) Oliver in Woodbine, Iowa. She was raised in the Woodbine and Pisgah areas and graduated from the Pisgah High School in 1940. Vera then moved to Omaha and worked at a caf�. Vera married Kenneth L. Clark on January 7, 1946, in Hutchinson, Kansas. The couple lived in Pisgah, and then moved to Arizona in 1965 and returned to Pisgah in 1966. Vera was the secretary at the Pisgah school in the 50s and 60s. She then worked as a bank teller for 20 years and also at Westmont Nursing Home in Logan.
Vera was a member of the Community of Christ. She was very active at the church as a book steward and treasurer. Vera loved to garden, cook and bake ~ especially glazed doughnuts, cream apple pie and potato salad. People would line up at the various bake sales for Vera's baked goods.
Vera died on Sunday, March 22, 2009, at Rose Vista Nursing Home in Woodbine Iowa at the age of 86 years and three days.
Vera was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth on August 24, 1974; four brothers, Lyle, Ted, Glen and Ivan Oliver; sister, Iva Neese; granddaughter, Ashley Loyd. She is survived by her four children, Margaret (Bob) Loyd of Mondamin, Iowa, John (Debra) Clark of Omaha, Nebraska, Ron (Patti) Clark of Little Sioux, Iowa and Dedra (Gail) Hatcher of Pisgah, Iowa; 14 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; sister, Ethel Oliver of Pisgah, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
