Willa Marie (Thomas) Barry was born on June 23, 1917 to Rueben and Anna (Zaiser) Thomas in Mondamin, Iowa. She graduated from Mondamin High School in 1935. On February 14, 1936, she married Dale Barry at the Methodist Parsonage in Woodbine. The couple farmed west of Woodbine for one year and then moved to their farm northwest of Woodbine. When they retired they moved into Dunlap. Dale died on February 8, 1994. Willa moved to Woodbine in 1994.

Willa was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Woodbine. She started golfing at 60 years of age. She was an avid bowler and was proud of every 500 series she bowled. She enjoyed her family, her friends, her home and her flowers.

Willa died on Tuesday, January 6, 2004 at the Alegent Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley at the age of 86 years, six months and 14 days.

Willa was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter Bonnie Adams, a granddaughter Linda Adams, two sisters Merna Thomas and Vera Sherman and a brother Ivan. She is survived by her two daughters Betty Murphy of Omaha, NE and Eileen and her husband Hal Seaman of Woodbine, IA; eleven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; sister Marjorie Brandenburg of Storm Lake, IA and many other relatives and friends.
