Wilma Gertrude (Probasco) Park Postma was born to William and Mary (Blankenship) Probasco on July 14, 1909. She was raised in and near Dunlap, Iowa the eldest of seven children. Wilma graduated from Woodbine Normal School and taught in rural schools before marrying Francis Park on May 26, 1931, at the Little Brown Church at Nashua, Iowa. Francis and Wilma were engaged in farming and Wilma again taught rural school for a number of years before retiring in 1962. After retirement they both enjoyed spending the winters in Florida and Texas. Francis passed away in 1983. In 1988, Wilma married Ed Postma from Byron Center, Michigan. Wilma and Ed divided their time between Iowa, Texas and Michigan. Ed passed away in 2000. Wilma continued to live in her home in Woodbine until April 2008 when she moved to Rose Vista Nursing Home.

Wilma was a member of the Woodbine United Methodist Church. She was active with the United Methodist Women and the ladies circle. She had been a member of the Eldean's Club and a country neighborhood club.

Wilma died Wednesday, January 28, 2009, at Rose Vista Nursing Home in Woodbine, Iowa at the age of 99 years, six months, and 14 days.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Francis Park; second husband, Ed Postma; an infant sister; one brother, Edward Harvey; son, Larry Park; and an infant granddaughter. She is survived by her son, Arnold and his wife Marlene Park of Woodbine, Iowa; daughter Janet and her husband John Mock of Madisonville, Texas, daughter-in-law, Sharon Park of Apache Junction, Arizona; 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, three sisters, Eleanor Soetmelk of Logan, Iowa, Catherine Smith and her husband Meredith Amass of Davis, California; Lillian and her husband Murlyn Ronk, of Dunlap, Iowa; brother William E. Probasco and his wife Rosalie of Woodbine, Iowa; stepdaughter, Janie Stebbins of Midland, Michigan; stepson, Eddy Postma, of Byron Center, Michigan; step grandchildren and great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
