Ruth Wyonetta (Swain) Stewart was born January 8, 1921 in Pisgah, Iowa to parents Lloyd and Zaida (Perrin) Swain. Wyonetta grew up in the Pisgah area and graduated from Pisgah High School. Wyonetta worked as a secretary at the Ford Motor Company in Pisgah and attended Simpson College and Omaha U. In 1942 she was united in marriage to Robert D. Stewart. The couple lived on a farm near Pisgah before moving to Woodbine to raise their four children.
Wyonetta was a homemaker whose family always came first. She volunteered at Rose Vista and played the piano for Sing-along. She was active with her church and playing the organ in Denison. Wyonetta rehearsed with the Methodist Church Choir and participated in Bible Study. She loved music, the arts, and studying the weekly Bible lessons with her dear friend and cousin, Lorene (Swain) Heistand.
Wyonetta died on November 24, 2005 in Woodbine, Iowa at the age of 84 years, 10 months and sixteen days surrounded by her loving family.
Wyonetta was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, parents, brother Byron Swain and sister Margaret M. Houk. She is survived by her children, Karon and Robert Stanislav of Woodbine, Iowa, Kristine and Russell Lehan of Denison, Iowa, Kyle Stewart and Phil Krampetz of Dallas, Texas and Kelley and Don Baldwin of Omaha, Nebraska; grandchildren, Sara and Dan Finn of Slater, Iowa; Dr Andrew and Deborah Stanislav of Glenwood, Iowa, Matthew Lehan and Mark Lehan of Des Moines, Iowa, Molly and Marvin Brooks of New York, New York, Keith Baldwin and Amy Baldwin both of Omaha, Nebraska; great grandchildren, Mason, Sydney and Olivia Finn and Christian, Morgan and Lauren Stanislav; two sisters-in law, Betty (Stewart) Barry and Shirley (Stewart) and Chuck Kersten all of Logan, Iowa and many other relatives and friends.
